SAN DIEGO - San Diego State has a busy day set for Saturday, Nov. 14, with both men's basketball and football playing at home. Men's basketball will hit the court for its home opener against UC San Diego at 2 p.m. PT at Viejas Arena. Down the freeway at Qualcomm Stadium, the Aztecs will be celebrating senior night at the last home game of 2009 against Wyoming (4-5, 2-3). Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. PT.
The San Diego State men's basketball team is coming off two exhibition wins and will look to start 2009-10 campaign off on the right foot. The Aztecs will take on UC San Diego with game time slated for 2 p.m. PT. Before the contest, SDSU will reveal a banner saluting the 2008-09 team for advancing to the NIT semifinals. Last season, the Aztecs set a school record with 26 wins.
At Qualcomm Stadium, the football team will celebrate senior night and look to get back to .500 against Wyoming at 7 p.m. PT. The two teams have identical records and are tied for fifth place in the Mountain West Conference. Prior to kickoff in this key game, 23 Aztec seniors will be recognized.
Pre-game events include Aztec Village, located in F-1, opening at 5 p.m. Aztec Village is free to the public and will have appearances by the Aztec men's and women's golf teams, and track and cross country teams. The Student Tailgate will take place from 5:00-6:30 in lot K-2 and will feature a Rock n' Roll theme. The Student Tailgate is free for all SDSU students. During halftime, the Marching Aztecs will wrap up the regular season at Qualcomm Stadium and will be followed by the annual cheer/dance clinic.
A special ticket promotion is available for the final home football game. Check out your Papa John's Pizza box top for a special Aztec football internet offer. Fans can purchase $11 tickets in the Plaza/Club Corner area (two ticket minimum). These tickets are regularly priced at $20.
