SAN DIEGO - Following his outstanding performance against Colorado State on Saturday, San Diego State senior wide receiver DeMarco Sampson (Chula Vista, Calif./Castle Park HS) is one of just four players nominated for the AT&T All-America Player of the Week award. The weekly winner is determined by fan voting and the four nominees were chosen by a panel of analysts from ESPN.

Aztec fans can vote for Sampson by texting the word VOTE to 345345 on their cellular phones (standard rates apply). There is no limit on fan voting and the contest ends at 8:59 p.m. PT on Wednesday, Oct. 28. The winner will be announced during Thursday's ESPN College Football Primetime show.

Sampson posted career numbers in leading the Aztecs to a come-from-behind win at Colorado State, logging 15 receptions for 257 yards and three touchdowns. His 15 catches tie for seventh in SDSU single-game history and rank sixth nationally in 2009. His 257 receiving yards are ninth in the Aztec record book and are second-best in the nation this season.

Six of Sampson's 15 receptions were on third downs, including four when SDSU needed eight or more yards for a first down. Of his 15 receptions, 12 went for first downs and 11 were for more than 10 yards. Sampson had three catches for 72 yards on the Aztecs' game-winning drive in the fourth quarter, including the winning touchdown on a 38-yard pass play.

The other nominees besides Sampson this week include University of Alabama guard Terrence Cody, University of Nevada quarterback Colin Kaepernick and Clemson running back C.J. Spiller. More information, including highlights, is available on the web at www.espnallamerica.com.

The Aztecs return to Qualcomm Stadium for three consecutive home games, beginning this Saturday against New Mexico at 4:30 p.m. PT.
