In its 2009-10 college basketball preview, Sporting News picked San Diego State to win the Mountain West Conference men's basketball title and advance to the NCAA Tournament.

The Aztecs' stock is up, according to the publication, which also selected junior Billy White to its five-man all-Mountain West team. The Las Vegas, Nev., native is coming off an all-MWC sophomore season and enters this year as the team's leading scorer and shot blocker.

In rating the Mountain West's players, Sporting News picked Malcolm Thomas as the league's top NBA prospect and Kawhi Leonard as the conference's top freshman. Both make up an incoming class that is ranked No. 1 in the MWC in the magazine's "Recruiting Rundown." Leonard was also tabbed as San Diego State's "Impact Newcomer," while Thomas made Sporting News' All-West team on its "Top JUCOs Moving On" list.

The Yahoo! Sports 2009-10 College Basketball Preview, meanwhile, has described SDSU as a "Program on the Rise" and predicts the Aztecs will challenge for the league crown. The publication also named White to its all-conference team and placed Leonard at No. 48 on its "Top 150 Incoming Freshman" list.

San Diego State is coming off a 2008-09 season in which it won a school-record 26 games and advanced to the postseason NIT semifinals at Madison Square Garden in New York City. SDSU has won 20 or more games and advanced to the postseason four straight seasons and returns White, two-year starter D.J. Gay, Tim Shelton and a top-15 recruiting class.

San Diego State 2009-10 season tickets start at $99 for reserved chair-back seats and are available now. Season tickets can be purchased online at GoAztecs.com or by calling the Aztec Ticket Office at (619) 283-7378.
