The San Diego State Department of Athletics and the Aztec Athletic Foundation are set to host the second-annual Aztec Invitational golf fundraiser to benefit all 18 varsity sports at SDSU. The invitational event is scheduled for Monday, June 15, at Bernardo Heights Country Club in Rancho Bernardo, Calif., with many Aztec legends participating in the tournament.
Among the Aztec greats expected to attend are Jim Allison, Rob Awalt, Harold Barlow, Barbara Barrow, Billy Blanton, Michael Cage, Don Coryell, Trimaine Davis, Mike Dodd, Mike Douglas, Steve Duich, Dan Fouts, Gary Garrison, Akbar Gbaja-Biamila, Mario Mitchell, Neal Petties, Wayne Ross, Ray Rowe, Todd Santos, Dennis Shaw, JR Tolver, Kevin Wells and Nate Wright. In addition, current San Diego State head coaches and student-athletes will be on hand to participate in the activities.
The tournament features a 12:30 p.m. shotgun start, culminating with a post-tournament reception. There will also be putting, hole-in-one, closest-to-the-pin and longest drive contests to participate in. SDSU golf student-athletes will also be on hand to provide driving range instruction.
All spots are taken to participate in the event, however there are still tickets remaining to attend the reception. Tickets to attend the Aztec Legacy and celebrity reception on Sunday cost $50, while tickets for the post-tournament reception only will also be available for $50.
