SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - The San Diego State men's golf team sent individuals to compete at the 54-hole Wyoming Cowboy Classic this week. SDSU freshman J.J. Spaun highlights the individuals competing for the Aztecs after finishing the first two rounds of play only six strokes back of leader Morten Madsen of Oregon State.

After day one, Spaun finds himself in a tie for fifth place on the individual leaderboard after carding rounds of 71-68 for a 1-under 139 total. Freshman Alex Kang finished the first day in a tie for 59th position (76-71), while junior Michael Wynn logged eight birdies over the course of 36 holes to finish in a tie for 84th place (75-75). Rounding out the competitors at the Cowboy Classic are sophomore Jerry Porras (t-87th) and freshman Tyler Morris (t-104th).

The third and final round of the classic will be played on Tuesday at the 7,133 yard, par-70 Talking Stick Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz.
