SDSU Softball Wraps Up Regular Season Road Schedule This Weekend at New Mexico, Colorado State
The San Diego State softball team wraps up its regular season road schedule this weekend when it travels to New Mexico and Colorado State for three key games in Mountain West Conference play. The Aztecs (29-14, 6-1 MWC), who are once again receiving votes in both the USA Today/NFCA and ESPN.com/USA Softball national polls, will meet the Lobos (11-29, 2-6 MWC) at 7 p.m. Friday before playing the Rams (21-20, 4-3 MWC) at 3 p.m. Saturday and again at 1 p.m. Sunday.

SDSU has won 11 of its last 12 games, 18 of its last 21, 20 of its last 24 and 24 of its last 30 contests. San Diego State has 18 shutouts on the season, four behind the school record of 22 set in 1985, and has outscored its MWC opponents, 33-4, over the seven league games.

Senior All-American Erin Floros (San Diego/Mt. Carmel HS) continues to lead the Aztec offense with a .321 batting average in 29 games (all starts). Floros, who missed 14 games earlier this season with a bout of appendicitis, also leads the squad in home runs (3), RBI (21), slugging percentage (.476) and on-base percentage (.402), while boasting a perfect fielding percentage and .993 career fielding percentage, the best in school history. Redshirt senior Taryin Casillas (San Diego/Grossmont HS) (2 HR, 15 RBI) and senior Tonye McCorkle (Santa Ana Heights, Calif.) (17 R, 8 2B, 4 3B) are each batting .295, while junior Brittany Knudsen (San Diego/Escondido HS) leads the team in doubles (9), walks (24) and stolen bases (11).

The 1-2 pitching punch of freshman Bailey Micetich (Woodland, Calif.) (15-4, 1.44 ERA, 136.1 IP) and sophomore Samantha Beasley (San Diego/Steele Canyon HS) (14-10, 1.71 ERA, 163.2 IP) continue to improve in the circle for SDSU and boast the 14th-lowest team ERA (1.59) in the nation.

Friday's game at New Mexico will be the rubber game in the series after each team took a game in San Diego earlier this month. San Diego State leads the all-time series, 50-29.

The Aztecs leads the all-time series with Colorado State, 42-27, including a 5-0 victory in San Diego on April 10. SDSU has won the last seven in the series and 14 of the past 16 dating back to the 2005 campaign.
