Aztecs Hit The Road To Continue League Play
The San Diego State women's tennis team will travel to Colorado Springs, Colo., to resume Mountain West Conference play this weekend. The Aztecs will take on Wyoming on April 3, Colorado State on April 4 and Air Force on April 5. Each match is slated for 9 a.m. MT start time.

Scouting The Cowgirls
Wyoming is fresh off a 4-3 win over the Weber State Wildcats on March 29. The Cowgirls took four of the six singles matches to claim the victory. Kati Gyulai is in her first year at the helm of the team.

Series History vs. Wyoming
SDSU has the Cowgirls' number, as San Diego State has taken all 10 of the all-time meetings between the two MWC schools. Last season, the Aztecs swept Wyoming in San Diego, 7-0.

Scouting The Rams
Colorado State is also coming off a win over Weber State. The Rams topped the Wildcats, 5-2, in Utah on March 28. Jon Messick is in his 20th season leading the team.

Series History vs. Colorado State
San Diego State has taken each of the 24 all-time matchups against the Rams. The Aztecs swept Colorado State last season, 7-0, at the Aztec Tennis Center.

Scouting the Falcons
Air Force will be looking to rebound after falling to No. 44 Utah in Salt Lake City, 6-1. With the loss, the Falcons fell to 9-11 overall and 0-3 in conference play. Kim Gidley is in her 11th year at the head of the tennis team.

Series History vs. Air Force
San Diego State owns all 10 meetings between the two schools. Last season, the Aztecs swept the Falcons, 7-0, in San Diego.

Aztecs In The Polls
San Diego State is currently ranked 37th in the nation, according to FILA Collegiate Tennis Rankings released March 31 by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA). The doubles team of SDSU senior Holly Bagshaw and sophomore Julia Trunk are currently ranked No. 58.

The Aztec Coaches
Peter Mattera is in his 28th season at San Diego State and 16th as head coach of the Scarlet and Black. In 15 seasons, the Aztecs' mentor has guided SDSU to 10 postseason appearances, compiling a record of 240-163 (.596) in the process. Equally impressive is the fact that 13 of his 15 squads have finished with an overall record of .500 or better despite playing one of the toughest schedules in the nation on an annual basis. Lindsey Gamp is in her fourth season as the Aztecs' assistant coach. A four-year letterwinner at SDSU (2000-03), Gamp played on three NCAA tournament teams and guided the Aztecs to a pair of Mountain West Conference regular season titles and a MWC championship crown in 2003.

There's No Place Like Home
Since the opening of the Aztec Tennis Center in 2005, SDSU has won 69 percent of its home matches, posting a 38-16 record. All 16 defeats have come at the hands of teams ranked in the top 60. This year the Aztecs are 9-4 at home.

Last Time Out With The Aztecs
San Diego State hosted its conference-opening weekend with TCU, New Mexico and UNLV all coming to the Aztec Tennis Center. The Aztecs were able to get past New Mexico, 4-3, but fell to the two other league opponents. No. 28 TCU topped SDSU, 5-2, while San Diego State closed out the weekend by falling to No. 71 UNLV, 5-2.

2007-08 Review
SDSU finished the 2008 dual-match campaign with a 11-13 overall record and a 3-5 mark in the Mountain West Conference.
