SEASIDE, Calif. - Three Aztec women's golfers, Malin Enarsson (Gothenburg, Sweden), Maki Kamimura (West Covina, Calif) and Heather Wilson (Chula Vista, Calif.), logged first-round 78s Monday at the Bayonet and Black Horse Golf Courses. SDSU is playing in a two-day, dual-match format with Cal State Bakersfield on the same par-72 course that will be the site of next month's Mountain West Conference championships.
Enarsson, Kamimura and Wilson are all competing as individuals in this week's event, as are sophomore Samatha Roberts (Carlsbad, Calif.), who posted an 80, junior Petra Cole (San Diego, Calif), who recorded an 81, and senior Jackie Kazarian (Dana Point, Calif.), who ended up with an 87.
Sophomore Stephanie Arcala (Oceanside, Calif.) is one of five SDSU players whose scores can count toward the team total, as she posted a first-round 82. Sophomore Kaitlen Miyajima (86), freshman Casey McIntosh (89), sophomore Faith De Guzman (91) and junior Ashley Wood (92) round out the Aztec `B' squad.
Players will tee-off beginning at 9:45 a.m. PT on Tuesday morning for the second and final round.
