The San Diego State men's golf team sent individuals to compete at the 54-hole Braveheart Classic this week. SDSU's redshirt freshman Colin Featherstone highlights the individuals competing for the Aztecs, after finishing the first two rounds of play only six strokes back of leader Tai Reynolds of Southern Utah.
After day one, the Scarlet and Black have three individuals in the top 50. Along with Featherstone (t-25th), junior Bryan Martin (t-46th) and sophomore Jerry Porras (t-50th) find themselves among the top 50 competitors. The highlight of the day for the Aztecs came from Porras, who shot an even-par 72 over the first 18 holes.
Also competing at the Braveheart Classic are junior Michael Wynn (t-76th) and redshirt freshman Tyler Morris (t-99th).
The third and final round of the classic will be played on Tuesday at the 7,003 yard, par-72 Oak Valley Golf Club in Beaumont, Calif.
