Top-Seeded San Diego State Plays Host to Weber State in First Round of NIT
After being left out of the NCAA Tournament field, San Diego State (23-9; 11-5 Mountain West Conference) enters NIT play as the top seed and will play host to eighth-seeded Weber State (21-9; 15-1 Big Sky Conference) on Tuesday night. Game time is set for 7 p.m. PT and the game can be heard on AM 600 KOGO. There is no live television coverage for the event.

SDSU returns home after a three-game stint in Las Vegas, the site of the Conoco MWC Championships. The Aztecs made their run to the finals after defeating UNLV for a third straight time this season, ousting top-seeded Brigham Young and dropping a 52-50 decision to Utah in the championship game. Weber State, meanwhile, makes its first trip to Montezuma Mesa after losing to Montana State in the semifinals of the Big Sky Conference Tournament in its last time out.

Game Tidbits:
* San Diego State is making its third consecutive NIT appearance and fourth straight postseason appearance overall. SDSU is 2-4 all time in the NIT and dropped a road decision to Florida last year. The Aztecs' last win in the NIT came in 2007 at Missouri State.

* SDSU is looking to win its 24th game of the season, which would match the all-time school record. The Aztecs will be looking to make history inside a building where they are 13-2 this year and 6-1 against non-conference foes with their only blemish coming to 15th-ranked Arizona State.

* San Diego State and Weber State are meeting for the first-time ever. Head coach Steve Fisher, however, is 1-0 against the Odgen, Utah, school, defeating them 80-62 on Nov. 17, 1995, in the second game of the 1995-96 campaign while at Michigan.
