Team Notes
-Advanced to its second consecutive MWC Championship game and its second overall ... SDSU becomes the seventh No. 2 seed to advance to the title contest in 10 years, but the first since 2006.
-SDSU improved to 11-12 all-time in its first game of a conference tournament ... The Aztecs are 17-19 all-time in conference tournament games.
-SDSU improved to 1-0 all-time against UNLV in MWC tournament action ... The Aztecs moved to 18-21 all-time vs. the Lady Rebels and have won six straight in the series.
-SDSU has won six-straight games, matching its longest win streak of the season ... The Aztecs won their 23rd games of the season, tying as the sixth-most in program history.
-SDSU had 20 assists against UNLV, reaching the 20-barrier for the seventh time this year. Three Aztecs, Coco Davis, Quenese Davis and Jené Morris, combined for all 20 assists, the first time that's happend in MWC tournament history.
-The Aztecs had 10 or more steals for the 20th time in 29 contests this season ... The Aztecs forced at least 20 turnovers for the 20th time in 29 contests.
-The Aztecs shot 49.1 percent from the field .... SDSU has shot above 40 percent in 18 games this season ... The team shooting percentage is the Aztecs' best in 12 all-time MWC championship games.
Individual Notes
-Paris Johnson - Tallied a Mountain West Conference record for blocked shots in a games for the second year in a row. She beat her previous record of six last year against TCU, by talling seven against UNLV. Johnson has 15 career blocks in four career MWC championship contests ... Johnson has combined for 16 blocked shots in her last two outings, after tallying a conference record nine rejections vs. UNLV at the end of the regular season ... She set a school record for blocks in a season with 90.
-Quenese Davis - Has posted a career season-high for assists with 171, beating her previous high of 163 a year ago ... Moved from a tie for seventh into fifth in the single-season SDSU record book ... Has eight or more assists in each of her last four MWC tournament games.
-Coco Davis -Her eight rebounds are a career high, beating her previous best of seven.
-Jennifer Layton-Bailes - Had 14 points in her first career MWC tournament game.
-Jené Morris - Tallied a game-high 27 points ... Had 12 points in the first half, the sixth straight game in which an SDSU player has reached double-figures in the first 20 minutes ... Has 20 or more points in three of her four career MWC tournament games ... Has 19 or more points in four of her five career games against UNLV ... Has 11 career 20-point scoring outings, including six this season ... Had four steals against the Lady Rebels, the 10th time in 29 outings that she has had four or more this season ... Hit a career-best 11 free throws (prev. 9) and attempted a career-high 15 (prev. 9) ... Her 11 free throws and 15 attempts are the most by an SDSU player in a conference tournament game.
-Gabrielle Clark - Had six points against UNLV ... In her previous 16 outing entering the afternoon, she had combined for only eight points.
