SAN DIEGO - San Diego State men's tennis swept Georgia State on Thursday afternoon at the Aztec Tennis Center. The No. 44 Aztecs handed the winless Lions their 14th loss of the season while picking up their sixth win.
Doubles action set the tone with SDSU sweeping every match. Bartosz Golas and Juan Gomez were the first to finish in first doubles, shutting out Trenton Spinks and Jackson Moore, 8-0. Second doubles was the next to finish with Andre Feliz and Luis Rattenhuber downing Orlando Battaglia and Henri Mangin, 8-1. Finishing the doubles sweep was Achim Ceban and Jordan Colman in second doubles, defeating William Adeimy and Lucas Thomaz, 8-5.
In singles action, San Diego State continued to dominate, defeating every Georgia State opponent in straight sets. Ceban was first to finish in second singles, taking down Moore, 6-1, 6-2. Tim Schulz van Endert finished off Adeimy in fifth singles, 6-3, 6-1, while Giovanni Vaglietti clinched the win for the Aztecs by downing Thomaz, 6-1, 6-4, in third singles. In first singles Golas picked up a decision over Mangin, 6-2, 6-4. SDSU continued to roll as Feliz took down Spinks in fourth singles, 6-0, 6-3. Completing the match sweep for San Diego State was Rattenhuber by defeating Battaglia in sixth singles, 6-3, 6-1.
Up next for SDSU is the second match of the four-match homestand with Texas Tech coming to the Aztec Tennis Center. Match time is slated for 2 p.m. PT.
