Billy White scored 15 points and Richie Williams added 12 points and five assists to lift San Diego State to a 65-34 win over Air Force Saturday night. The Aztecs set several school records for Mountain West Conference action and Cox Arena records in the 31-point victory.

It was the fourth consecutive win for the Aztecs, 17-5, who are tied atop the Mountain West Conference with Utah at 7-2. Air Force, which is 9-13 overall and 0-9 in the conference, has lost 10 straight games.

"This was a good victory against a team that is obviously struggling, but this is a good victory," head coach Steve Fisher said. "We held serve at home, defended efficiently for 40 minutes, shared the ball. It was nice to get off to a good start."

The Aztecs never trailed, connecting on its first four field goal attempts of the game in building a 12-2 advantage. San Diego State built a 19-point halftime lead and led by double digits the final 26:49 of the contest.

San Diego State forced 19 turnovers in the contest and held Air Force to just 31.0 percent from the field. The Aztecs enjoyed a 21-0 advantage in points off turnovers.

"Their defense was very good," Air Force coach Jeff Reynolds said. "We were limited in open shots that we got. We couldn't score the ball when we drove it. SDSU is an awfully good team."

The 34 points allowed was a San Diego State school record for fewest points allowed in a Mountain West Conference game and the lowest output for a team in Cox Arena history. The margin of victory was the largest ever for the Aztecs in a Mountain West Conference game. SDSU also set a Cox Arena record by committing just six turnovers. That is the fewest ever by the Aztecs in an MWC game.

Williams also broke the school and Mountain West Conference record for most career steals, eclipsing the record held by former Aztec Brandon Heath. The senior point guard, who now has 220 career steals, had 12 points, five assists, four steals and three rebounds in the contest.

The Aztecs played the game without senior forward Lorrenzo Wade, who was suffering from the flu.
