TEAM NOTES
* San Diego State's three-game winning streak at The Pit comes to an end with the Aztecs' loss. SDSU was vying to become just the second team to own a four-game winning streak at the The Pit. With a win, the Aztecs would have joined UTEP as the only programs to win four straight at the venue.
* Despite the loss, San Diego State is still on pace after 25 games with the 2006 team that advanced to the NCAA Tournament and the 2007 NIT team. SDSU is also two games ahead of last season's squad that also advanced to the NIT.
* The Aztecs suffered their worst loss since a 29-point defeat, 98-69, at No. 16/21 Washington back on Dec. 7, 2004.
* SDSU shot just 36.7 percent from the floor, its worst shooting effort since shooting 34.9 percent at Arizona earlier this season on Dec. 10.
* San Diego State attempted just 10 free throws, its second-fewest of the year. SDSU attempted five in the home win over TCU. For the game, the Aztecs went 7-for-10 from the stripe, while New Mexico was 13-of-15.
* For the second time this year, SDSU allowed 10 or more three-pointers. New Mexico finished with 10. The Aztecs also allowed 11 Brigham Young three-pointers in Provo earlier this season. Both games resulted in Aztec losses.

Spain scored a team-high 18 points, leading the team in scoring for the 13th time this year. ... * Richie Williams (6 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals)
Williams scored six points and added five rebounds, the second-most on the team behind only Kyle Spain's six. ... The senior recorded three assists, which brings him within six assists of tying former Wyoming standout Jay Straight for the MWC career assists lead. ...Williams posted his 15th game with at least two steals in 2008-09.
