Aztec Basketball Seeks Second Win Over New Mexico On Saturday At Home
The San Diego State women's basketball team will look to resume its winning ways this coming Saturday, when the Aztecs play host to New Mexico at 2 p.m. PT in another key Mountain West Conference match-up at Cox Arena.

After ending first-place Utah's 25-game conference win streak on Wednesday, the Aztecs were unable to match that effort on Sunday when the team traveled to Wyoming, dropping a tight contest to the Cowgirls, 64-61. The loss was SDSU's 10th-straight in Laramie and at the time, pushed the team into a second-place tie in the league standings with TCU at 8-3, two games behind the Utes.

Following a bye on Wednesday and a TCU victory, the Aztecs are a half game out of second place and one up on the visiting Lobos. SDSU upset then No. 23 UNM on its home court back in mid-January, coming out victorious in Albuquerque, 57-52, for the first time since March 1995.

San Diego State will look to end a similar losing skid to New Mexico in San Diego, as the Lobos have won each of the last seven games, including a 60-47 defeat a year ago. The Aztecs are undefeated at home this season (12-0) and have won 14 in a row overall, which ties as the 10th-longest streak in the nation.

The Lobos enter the contest on a two-game win streak, including a 52-37 victory over BYU earlier this week, after dropping three straight. UNM is 18-6 on the year and 7-4 in conference play with four of those six overall losses coming on the road.

Saturday is the Aztecs' WBCA Pink Zone game, which is an initiative is designed to raise breast cancer awareness. SDSU and New Mexico will both be sporting pink shooting shirts, while the Aztecs will don pink headbands.

The afternoon game will feature a live audio/video feed from Cox Arena with Chris Ello, as well as live stats on goaztecs.com.
