Aztecs Look to Make History in Mountain West Conference Showdown at New Mexico on Saturday Afternoon
Winners of five of its last six games and 11 of its last 14 contests, San Diego State (18-6 overall; 8-3 Mountain West Conference) looks to become just the second visiting program to win four consecutive games at The Pit on Saturday against New Mexico (16-10; 7-4 MWC).

The Aztecs have not played in a week since claiming a 71-60 victory over Wyoming at Cox Arena last Saturday night. Sophomore forward Billy White set a school record by connecting on all 12 of his field goal attempts en route to a career-high 24 points, a season-high eight rebounds and a career-high four blocked shots. SDSU led by as many as 21 points in winning its 10th straight home game.

This is a critical showdown between two of the top five teams in the league. Following Saturday's game in Albuquerque, the Aztecs have just one conference road game remaining.

Game Tidbits:
* San Diego State is looking to join UTEP (1983-84-85-86) as the only visiting programs to win four consecutive times at The Pit. Last season, SDSU became the only school in the country to have two three-game winning streaks at the venue. The Aztecs also won three in a row in 1982, 1983 and 1984.

* As previously noted, Billy White made all 12 of his shots in Saturday's win over Wyoming and now has a current streak of 19 consecutive made field goals covering two-plus games. The NCAA record is 25 consecutive field goals made by Ray Voelkel of American in 1978. His streak covered nine games.

* Senior Richie Williams, who Steve Fisher has called the best defensive player in the league, is closing in on the MWC record for assists. He is nine shy of former Wyoming standout Jay Straight. Earlier this month, Williams broke former teammate Brandon Heath's league and school record for career steals.
