SAN DIEGO - Both San Diego State basketball teams are gearing up for a Mountain West Conference showdown on Wednesday when both the men and the women take on Utah. The women's contest will be played at Cox Arena. Game time is set for 7 p.m. PT. The men travel to the Huntsman Center to take on the Utes at 8 p.m. MT.

Both the women's and men's teams are situated in the top two positions in the Mountain West Conference. The women come into Wednesday's contest in second place, right behind Utah. The men, meanwhile, are tied for first in the conference standings with Utah. In addition, the men's and women's combined records rank 7th nationally in men's and women's combined home winning percentage this year.

In women's action, the Aztecs are 16-5 overall, including an 11-0 mark at home, and 7-2 in league play, matching their highest-ever MWC win total. San Diego State has claimed 13 straight at Cox Arena overall, which is the 11th longest home win streak in the nation. Utah, meanwhile, is 16-6 and 9-0 in conference, having won each of its last 12 games, including a 58-52 victory over SDSU in Salt Lake City on Jan. 11.

Fans are encouraged to take advantage of the MWC Weeknight Meal Deal, where a soda, hot dog and chips at the game cost just $6.

In men's action, SDSU has won four straight, including 10 of the last 12, and are tied atop the Mountain West Conference standings. For its efforts, the Aztecs are receiving votes for the first time this season in both the AP Top 25 and ESPN/USA Today Coaches polls.

San Diego State has matched its best start in the 39-year history of Division I basketball. With the win against Air Force on Saturday night, the Aztecs established a new school record for points allowed. The 34 points allowed vs. Air Force were the fewest by an Aztec squad in 54 years (since Feb. 1, 1955).

The men head to Utah looking to complete its first season sweep of Utah since 1982. They also look to win three straight road games, both overall and in conference, for the first time since its MWC championship season in 2005-06. That year, the Aztecs won five straight on the road, all of which came during league play.

On Monday evening, head coach Steve Fisher will be on ESPNU's Inside the Polls with Andy Katz. The show airs on ESPNU at 6 p.m. PT.

Tickets for the women's home contest can be purchased online at goaztecs.com or by calling the Aztec Ticket Office (619) 283-SDSU.
