San Diego State In Search of Ninth Straight Home Victory and First Season Sweep of Air Force Since 2003 on Saturday
San Diego State (16-5; 6-2 Mountain West Conference), which is tied atop the MWC standings with Utah, returns from a two-game road trip to play host to Air Force (9-12; 0-8 MWC) on Saturday night at Cox Arena. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m. PT and the contest can be seen nationally on CBS College Sports (San Diego Cox Cable 321, San Diego Time Warner 415, DirecTV 613, DISH Network 152).
The Aztecs, winners of three straight, come into the game fresh off their biggest win of the season at UNLV on Tuesday night. SDSU, which had health issues to four major contributors, successfully snapped the Runnin' Rebels 27-game home winning streak against conference foes with its 68-66 overtime win. Air Force, meanwhile, has lost nine straight, but has typically given the Aztecs fits as SDSU is only 6-7 in its last 13 outings against the Academy.
Game Tidbits:
* San Diego State will look to win its third straight over Air Force and its fourth straight over the Academy at home. SDSU is also in search of its first season sweep of the Falcons since 2003.
* Aztec head coach Steve Fisher has been a part of each of the Mountain West Conference's 10 seasons and is the league's all-time leader in MWC and overall victories. Fisher has 64 conference wins, which is four more than former Wyoming coach Steve McClain, and 163 overall victories, which is six more than McClain.
* SDSU will look to win its ninth straight home game, which would tie for the eighth-longest streak in school history. With a win, it would also tie for the second-longest home winning streak of the Steve Fisher era.
