Burns Seeks 200th Win At SDSU As Second-Place Aztecs Head To Air Force
Beth Burns will look for her 200th victory as head coach at San Diego State when the Aztec basketball team opens the second round of league play Saturday at Air Force, beginning at 2 p.m. MT in Clune Arena.

The Aztecs are currently in sole possession of second place in the Mountain West Conference after a victory over UNLV on Wednesday and losses by both New Mexico and TCU. SDSU boasts a 15-5 overall record, which assures the team of at least a .500 mark for only the second time in the last 12 years. The Aztecs also already have claimed six MWC victories, one fewer than last year's seven wins which are their most in the 10-year history of the conference. SDSU has never finished higher than fifth in the final Mountain West regular-season standings.

San Diego State used 10 three-pointers to down visiting UNLV, 83-58, to improve to 11-0 at home this year and extend its current win streak to 13 games at Cox Arena, which is currently the 13th-longest in the nation. One of those victories came last month against Air Force, as the Aztecs routed the Falcons, 79-28, holding the visitors to just a 19.0 field-goal percentage. Air Force enters Saturday's match-up with a 4-17 overall record and is 0-8 in the MWC, but has won two of the last three meetings in Colorado between the two sides.

The Air Force contest will feature a live audio feed with Chris Ello, along with live stats on goaztecs.com.
