Aztec Basketball Finishes Out First Round Of MWC Play Wednesday vs. UNLV
The San Diego State women's basketball team plays its second consecutive home game, as the Aztecs play host to the Lady Rebels of UNLV on Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. PT at Cox Arena.
SDSU is currently in a three-way tie for second place in the Mountain West Conference with both TCU and New Mexico at 5-2 heading into the final outing of the first round of league action. The Aztecs will get all three of the MWC's other top squads, including unbeaten Utah, at home the second time around.
On Monday, San Diego State received its most votes this season in the Associated Press poll, getting eight total or the 32nd-most votes in the nation. Three of the Aztecs' five losses in 2008-09 have come against schools ranked or receiving votes in the latest top 25 AP poll.
SDSU managed to stay perfect at home this season with a bucket in the final three seconds last Saturday against Colorado State. The Aztecs are 10-0 at Cox Arena and have proved victorious in 12 straight outings overall. Ironically, the home win streak began last season against the team's next opponent, UNLV, which enters the match up with a 9-11 mark and a 2-5 record in league action.
Wednesday's contest will have a live audio/video feed with Chris Ello, along with live stats on goaztecs.com.
