Aztec Basketball Looks To Bounce Back Saturday Against Colorado State
The San Diego State women's basketball team looks to get back in the win column Saturday when the Aztecs play host to Colorado State at 2 p.m. PT at Cox Arena. SDSU is starting a two-game home swing, it's only back-to-back outings in San Diego during the entire 2009 Mountain West Conference campaign. Both sides are coming off close losses on Wednesday, with the Aztecs falling by three points at TCU and the Rams dropping an eight-point decision at home against second-place New Mexico.
The odds are in San Diego State's favor to return to the win column, as the Aztecs are unbeaten at home with a perfect 9-0 record in 2008-09, and a streak of 11-straight victories dating back to last season, which ties for 15th-longest in the nation entering the weekend. SDSU has only dropped consecutive games once this season and has claimed each of the last two meetings at Cox Arena against Colorado State, including a 86-52 victory in 2008. The Aztecs have won 12 of the 17 all-time meetings in San Diego.
The Rams, meanwhile, have already exceeded their conference win total from a year ago, when they went 0-16. CSU is currently 7-11 overall and 2-5 in league action with road victories over UNLV and Air Force.
Saturday's contest will have a live audio/video feed with Chris Ello, along with live stats on goaztecs.com.
