San Diego State and TCU to Play on Montezuma Mesa in Matchup Between Two of MWC Elite
San Diego State (13-5; 3-2 Mountain West Conference/T-3rd) continues one of its toughest stretches of the season on Wednesday night as TCU (13-7; 4-2 MWC/T-1st) makes its annual visit to Cox Arena in a match-up of two of the top teams in the MWC. Game time is set for 7 p.m. PT and the nationally televised contest can be seen in high definition on CBS College Sports (San Diego Cox Cable channel 321, Time Warner channel 415, DirecTV channel 613, DISH Network channel 152).
Both teams, along with four others in the conference going into Tuesday's games, have a pair of conference losses and are coming off defeats this past Saturday. The Aztecs are fresh off a 77-71 loss at Brigham Young, while the Horned Frogs visit Montezuma Mesa after suffering a 69-52 home loss to New Mexico.
Game Tidbits:
* Senior forward Kyle Spain is one point shy of becoming the 23rd player in San Diego State history to record 1,000 career points at the school. He will be the fifth Aztec to reach the milestone while playing for Steve Fisher during his entire SDSU career (Brandon Heath, Marcus Slaughter, Tony Bland and Randy Holcomb).
* San Diego State comes into the game looking to avoid its second two-game losing streak of the season. The Aztecs successfully prevented a two-game skid last week by defeating New Mexico at home after dropping a four-point decision at Wyoming.
* The Aztecs, who are 3-0 vs. TCU at home in the Mountain West era, will look to extend their homecourt winning streak to eight games and their record since the 2005-06 season to 23-4.
