Having matched the best start in its 39 seasons as a Division I school, San Diego State (12-3; 2-0 Mountain West Conference) puts its five-game winning streak on the line Wednesday when the Aztecs face Wyoming (11-4; 0-1 MWC) in Laramie. The Cowboys have won eight consecutive home games dating back to last season.

Game time is set for 6 p.m. MT (5 p.m. PT) and the contest will be televised by The Mtn. (San Diego Cox Cable channel 320, DirecTV channel 616). Radio coverage of the game can be heard on XTRA Sports 1360 AM (San Diego).

The Aztecs are coming off of an impressive 72-63 victory over Utah on Saturday. SDSU led for 35:21 and did not trail in the second half for the fifth consecutive game. Senior center Ryan Amoroso had a game- and season-high 17 points and eight rebounds off the bench.

Game Tidbits:
* San Diego State, which has matched its best record after 15 games in 39 seasons at the Division I level, can post its best 16-game mark with a victory on Wednesday. Since moving to Division I prior to the 1970-71 season, no SDSU squad has won 13 of its first 16 games. In fact, a win would give the Aztecs their third-best start in 88 seasons of basketball.

* Through two league games, SDSU's defense has continued to shine, allowing just 53.5 points and 37.5 percent field-goal shooting to date. In addition, the Aztecs have 16 total turnovers through two contests, including zero for sophomore guard D.J. Gay (69 minutes) and one for senior guard Richie Williams (65 minutes).
