TEAM NOTES
* With the win, San Diego State matches its best start in 24 seasons with its 11-3 record. Only the 1984-85 team posted a better record after 14 games with a mark of 12-2.
* The Aztecs extend their winning streak to four games. It's their second-longest winning streak of the season.
* SDSU snaps a five-game losing streak at Clune Arena and posts its first victory at Air Force since Jan. 11, 2003.
* The Aztecs emerge victorious in a season-opening Mountain West Conference game for the second year in a row. They have now won six of the last seven league openers.
* San Diego State wins its second consecutive league-opening road contest and just its fourth in 10 previous tries. The other times the Aztecs have posted wins in its first conference road game came during the 2003, 2005 and 2008 campaigns.
* SDSU outrebounded Air Force, 40-27, and improved to 24-7 in its last 31 games when outrebounding its opponent.
* The 17-point margin of victory is the largest in the series between the two schools, which now spans 61 games. The Aztecs own a 41-20 series advantage over the Falcons.
PLAYER NOTES
* D.J. Gay led the team in scoring for the second time this season with 15 points... The Aztecs improve to 5-0 this season and 12-2 in his career when he scores at least 10 points... Gay connected on four three-pointers and he now has 10 in the last three games... The sophomore tied his career best with his 36 minutes.
* Lorrenzo Wade just missed out on a triple-double with 12 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists... His rebound and assist totals are season highs... Wade was the last Aztec to almost post a triple-double when he went for 25 points, 11 assists and eight rebounds last year at Colorado State... The senior played a season-high 31 minutes off the bench and connected on a season-best seven free throws.
* Billy White scored 11 points, to post his first double-figure scoring effort since recording 10 at Arizona back on Dec. 13... White now has five double-figure scoring performance this season and 19 in his career.
* Tim Shelton grabbed a career-best 11 rebounds and blocked a personal-record three shots... The freshman also added eight points in a career-high 35 minutes.
