SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State athletic department will be participating in the Mountain West Challenge Blood Drive on Monday, Feb. 18, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the bottom of the Free Speech Steps near Aztec Center.
San Diego State University is competing with the other institutions in the Mountain West Conference in the third annual Rebuilding Lives Blood Drive. Started by the MWC Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, this life saving event connects athletes with their community and displays the importance of donating blood.
The goal of all nine Mountain West schools will be competing against each other to see which institution can collect the most blood donations. The winner of the challenge will receive an award presented at the men's and women's basketball conference championships in March.
For more information or to schedule an appointment to donate, visit the San Diego Blood Bank's website at www.sandiegobloodbank.org, click on "appointments" and provide the sponsor code "SDSA" or call 1-800-4MY-SDBB.
