SAN DIEGO, Calif. - Three Aztecs were recently selected to Rivals.com All-Mountain West Conference team. Highlighting the list for the Scarlet and Black is Corey Boudreaux, who was named to the first team. Vincent Brown and Russell Allen were both selected as second-team honorees.

A senior safety from Orange, Calif., Boudreaux led the Aztecs with two interceptions this season, including an 83 yard return for his first career touchdown against UNLV in the season finale. Boudreaux ended the season ranked in the top five in the league in tackles (101) and top 10 in forced fumbles (2).

Brown finished first on the team in receptions with 64 and in receiving yards with 631 yards, which also ranks eighth in the conference. The sophomore native of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., also rushed for 37 yards on three carries. He tied for first on the team with five touchdowns.

Allen, a two-time team captain, started 36 consecutive games for the Scarlet and Black. The Vista, Calif. native finished his career on The Mesa with 375 career tackles (214 solo, 161 assists), 22.0 tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, 13 PBU, three forced fumbles and four recovered fumbles. This season he led the team in solo tackles (63) and total tackles (107).

Before the season even began, Allen was named to two major award watch lists. Allen was named to the 2008 Butkus Award Watch List for the second consecutive year, as well as the 2008 Rotary Lombardi Award Watch List. The senior captain was also honored as a preseason all-MWC selection. In addition, Allen and Brown were both named to Phil Steel's 2008 mid-season all-conference team. Allen nabbed first-team honors, while Brown received third-team accolades.

The official 2008 Mountain West Conference football award winners will be announced live today. The 30-minute special presentation is set to air on The Mtn. at 2 p.m. MT.
