SAN DIEGO - The San Diego Hall of Champions is taking Sports at Lunch on the road to Seau's The Restaurant in Mission Valley on Friday, Dec. 5, at 11:30 a.m. in anticipation for Saturday's (Dec. 6) City Championship game between San Diego State and USD at Cox Arena.
This edition of Sports at Lunch will feature Aztec head coach Steve Fisher and Torero head coach Bill Grier. The luncheon marks the sixth straight year that both head coaches from San Diego's Division I basketball programs have met for Sports at Lunch before the annual game.
Last year, SDSU defeated the Toreros at Jenny Craig Pavilion, 69-64, to give the Aztecs a 5-4 edge since Fisher arrived in town as the Aztecs' coach. San Diego State enters the game having won two straight over USD and five out of the last six overall. SDSU has also won three consecutive games over the Toreros at Cox Arena.
The event will cost $25 for members and $30 for non-members and the luncheon is expected to run from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. The Hall of Champions (HOC) is a non-profit 501 (c)(3) organization and tickets are tax deductible. For reservations, call the HOC events department at 619-699-2309.
