SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State men's golf team will close out its 2008 fall campaign, Nov. 10-12, as it travels to Hawaii to participate in the Turtle Bay Intercollegiate golf tournament. The Aztecs will be one of 19 teams, including four ranked in the top 50, according to Golfweek, to play on the infamous course.

The Turtle Bay Resort Golf Course, located in Kahuku, on the island of O'ahu, contains two courses. The Palmer Course is a Par 72 with a length of 7,218 yards. The George Fazio Course is a Par 72 as well, but comes in at 6,535 yards. Teams will play 18 holes each day, with each round beginning at 7:30 a.m. HT. The first and third round will begin on the Fazio Course and the second round will begin on the Palmer Course.

The Aztecs will compete against schools from across the nation, including four teams ranked in the top 50. Among those are 13th-ranked Baylor, No. 17 Texas, 42nd-ranked Pepperdine, and No. 45 Ohio State. Other west region schools scheduled to compete include Cal Poly, Long Beach State, Santa Clara, and UC Irvine. San Diego State last appeared in the Turtle Bay Intercollegiate in 2002.

The Aztecs are fresh off of a third-place finish in the Rees Jones Intercollegiate tournament, their third top-10 finish this fall. The Aztecs were led by freshman J.J. Spaun, who shot 8-over 224 and tied for seventh place.
