* ALL-TOURNAMENT TEAM
Kyle Spain was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Player, a year after earning MVP honors at the World Vision Classic. Joining Spain on the team were Ryan Amoroso and D.J. Gay.

* ELITE COMPANY
Steve Fisher is one of 10 coaches in the history of the Great Alaska Shootout to have won a national championship and win a Shootout title.

* ALASKAN GREAT
With San Diego State's win, Ryan Amoroso becomes the first player in the 31-year history of the Great Alaska Shootout to win the tournament twice... He hung a banner inside Sullivan Arena back in 2005 while at Marquette.

* CHAMPIONSHIP PERFORMANCE
The Aztecs won their first tournament-style event under Steve Fisher. Prior to tonight's win, SDSU had been 0-for-3 in such tournaments, finishing in third place at the 2005 BP Top of the World Classic and the 2003 EA Sports Maui Invitational and in second at the 2001 Ford Red Raider Classic.

* STINGY D
San Diego State held its sixth straight opponent this season to 59 points or less. It is the first time an Aztec squad has accomplished the feat since the 1949-50 season when they held seven straight opponents to 59 or fewer.

* 10 IN A ROW
SDSU runs its multiple-game in-season event winning streak to 10 games with tonight's decision. Bookending the streak are wins coming in the state of Alaska. Win No. 1 of the streak came against Southern Miss at the 2005 BP Top of the World Classic.

PLAYER NOTES
* D.J. Gay put up a game-high 20 points, to post his second career 20-point game... The sophomore hit a career-high tying five three-pointers in the first half and finished a new personal best of six... Gay also had three assists, marking the fifth straight game in which he has finished with at least three assists.

* Kyle Spain scored 17 points to reach double figures for the sixth straight game... The Aztecs improve to 32-8 when scores at least 10 points in a game... His two steals matched a season high and marked the third game in a row that he has reached that total... Spain also collected a game-high tying eight rebounds and went 8-for-8 from the line for the second time this season.

* Ryan Amoroso grabbed a season-best eight rebounds and led the team in the category for the second time this year.

* Billy White, who scored 12 points, reached double figures in scoring for the first time since logging 12 against Arizona State in the second game of the year.
