SAN DIEGO - San Diego State middle blocker Lauren Salisbury has been named a member of the all-Mountain West Conference volleyball team as selected by the league's nine head coaches. The sophomore from Southlake, Texas (Carroll High School), earned the honor after leading the Aztecs in every offensive category during the 2008 season.

Salisbury finished conference play among the top 10 in hitting percentage (.320), blocks (1.16 per set) and points (3.48 per set). She led San Diego State in all matches in attack percentage (.344), blocking (1.04 per set) and points per game (.3.65). She has recorded at least one block in each of SDSU's last 25 matches.

Her two-year hitting percentage of .318 currently ranks sixth on the SDSU career list. This fall she has turned in hitting percentages of .300 or higher on 16 occasions and has cracked the .400 mark in attack percentage in 10 matches.

In addition to her all-conference accolade, Salisbury also earned all-tournament honors at two events during the 2008 campaign. She was named to the all-tournament team at the season-opening Aztec Invitational and received the same honor a week later at the Baylor Classic.

San Diego State concluded its 2008 season last Thursday (Nov. 20) with a win over Air Force on Senior Day to finish with an overall record of 9-17 (6-10 in the Mountain West Conference).
