COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The San Diego State swimming and diving team was picked to finish seventh in the Mountain West Conference preseason poll, as voted on by the league's head coaches. The Aztecs, who received 24 points, placed ahead of New Mexico (17) and Air Force (8).

Brigham Young was tabbed as the favorite with eight first-place votes and 63 points overall. Utah and UNLV were not far behind as they were picked to finish in a tie for second with 54 points. Following the Utes and Rebels were Wyoming (42), Colorado State (34) and TCU (28).

SDSU will open the 2008-09 season on Saturday, Oct. 11, when it welcomes Utah to the Aztec Aquaplex for a 3 p.m. (PST) dual meet.
