TULSA, Okla. - San Diego State senior Bartosz Golas dropped a straight-sets decision in the third round of qualifying singles on Wednesday at the 2008 D'Novo ITA Men's All-American Championships at Michael D. Case Tennis Center. With the loss, Golas falls just short of qualifying for the singles main draw.

Golas, who opened the tournament by defeating 29th-seeded Vijay Paul of Vanderbilt, drew Texas Tech's Raony Carvalho in a mid-morning match. The Red Raider won the first set, 6-2, and then followed it with a decision-clinching score of 6-3 in the second to advance in college tennis' biggest fall tournament.

The Aztec senior returns to San Diego with two early-season quality wins and puts himself in great position heading into the ITA West Regionals in Malibu, Calif., later this month.
