BOSTON - The San Diego State rowers opened its fall season Sunday afternoon at the 44th annual Head of the Charles Regatta in Boston, Mass. The Aztecs finished 35th of 38 boats in the competitive Championship Eight race.
SDSU completed the three-mile course in 18 minutes, 5.886 seconds, outdistancing Drexel (18:07.101), George Mason (18:09.263) and College of Holy Cross (18:19.549). The London Training Center won the race in 16:02.507.
Competing for the Aztecs were seniors Allison Hardin (stroke) and Robin Lauber (three), juniors Jaime Hinton (seven), Casi Boyle (six), Anna Ohrstrom (four), Kelsey Anderson (two), and Mary Anne Hinman (bow), sophomore Jenna Wood (five) along with freshman coxswain Vanessa Jones.
San Diego State will row in the San Diego Row for the Cure on Sunday.
