SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State women's soccer team scored three goals late in the second half to run away with a 4-0 victory over Wyoming Sunday afternoon at SDSU Sports Deck. The Aztecs won their second straight Mountain West Conference game to improve to 6-8-2 overall and 2-3-0 in league action, while the Cowgirls fall to 8-8-1 overall, 2-3-0 MWC.

The Scarlet and Black dented the scoreboard at the 17:45 mark when junior Jessica Gordon tallied her fifth goal of the season. Classmate Millie Allen made a move down the middle before passing it off to Gordon on the left side of the box, who then drilled a shot over the outstretched arms of Wyoming goalkeeper Jamie Scarcliff and into the upper right corner.

With stellar play on the defensive end, the Aztecs were able to maintain their 1-0 lead heading into halftime.

Coming out of the break, both teams traded shots before sophomore Cat Walker fed senior Jillian Riker, who placed the ball in the upper left corner from the top of the box in the 75th minute. Riker's goal marked the first of her three-plus year career at SDSU.

The Aztecs then went into an attack mode as junior Ali Lokanc and sophomore Brooke Holliday both found the back of the net for the second time this weekend.

Lokanc's tally came at the 82:20 mark when she took a forward pass from freshman Gretel Amman and was able to lob a shot over Scarcliff, who had come out of the goal to cut off her angle. Holliday then struck just 2:46 later as she found herself in front of an empty net from four yards out on a cross from Amman.

SDSU held a 15-9 advantage in shots, with Lokanc and freshman Taylor Canatsey leading the way with three attempts each. Senior goalkeeper Christi Yount anchored a solid defensive performance with five saves.

San Diego State will return to action on Friday, Oct. 24, when it heads to New Mexico for a 4:30 p.m. PT showdown with the Lobos.
