HANOVER, N.H. - The San Diego State men's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision at 17th-ranked Dartmouth Sunday afternoon in Hanover, N.H. The Aztecs dropped to 2-5-0 with the loss, while the Big Green improved to 5-2-0.

Dartmouth's Bryan Guidicelli got the only goal of the game just 1 minute, 43 seconds into the first half. Guidicelli's score came when he pounced on Craig Henderson's original shot and knocked the ball into the net.

SDSU redshirt senior Nick Collins (Paso Robles, Calif.) had a team-high three shot attempts to pace the offense, which tied the Big Green with 11 shots apiece. Junior Evan Toft (Aurora, Colo.), sophomore Khadim Diouf (Dakar, Senegal) and freshman Daniel Steres (Calabasas, Calif.) each added two shots apiece.

In the 49th minute, San Diego State arguably had its best chance to score when Collins ripped a shot that bounced off the shoulder of the Big Green's goalkeeper Sean Milligan. However, Dartmouth's Donnie Surdoval was there to clear the ball out of harm's way.

The Aztecs kept the pressure up for the rest of the game, including two corner kicks in the final 1:35 of the match. However, neither corner led to a shot attempt, keeping the game 1-0 in favor of the Big Green.

Redshirt freshman Morgan Maestas (Littleton, Colo.) continued to play well in net with seven saves in 90 minutes. Milligan also made seven stops for Dartmouth.

SDSU begins Pac-10 play Sunday at UCLA.

MAN OF THE MATCH: Senior Danny Ortiz was named the Man of the Match for his stellar play in the backfield. The Palmdale, Calif., native and co-captain settled the defense down after Dartmouth's early goal in the second minute.
