FULLERTON, Calif. - Cal State Fullerton got double-figure kills from three players en route to a 3-0 (25-19, 25-21, 25-16) home victory over San Diego State Tuesday evening. The loss dropped the Aztecs to 3-7 on the year while the Titans won their third straight to improve to 5-6.

SDSU was led by the play of middle blocker Lauren Salisbury, who finished with a team-high nine kills and hit .500 on the night. She also contributed three digs and pair of blocks while teammate Kelsey Manasco notched seven kills, four digs and a pair of blocks.

Aztec libero Michelle Ferrer recorded 11 digs to tie for match-high honors and Bailee Hellwig led SDSU at the net with three blocks.

Cal State Fullerton's Erin Saddler topped all players with 11 kills while Brittany Moore and Jennifer Edmond had 10 apiece.

San Diego State struggled much of the night offensively, hitting just .170 for the match. Conversely, SDSU was unable to contain a Titan offense that finished with a .344 attack percentage.

Despite trailing by as many as four points through the first part of the opening set, San Diego State found itself behind by only a point at 16-15. From there, Cal State Fullerton scored three consecutive points on a kill and two Aztec errors to take control of the contest and go on to the six-point victory.

The second set saw the Titans take the lead for good at 2-1 and hold off the Aztecs the rest of the way. SDSU was able to get within two points at 22-20, but CSUF got a pair of kills from Moore and a service error to close out the contest.

In the third set, the home side jumped out to a quick 6-1 advantage and was never threatened as the Aztecs hit just .051 in the contest. The Titans finished the match by scoring the final six points led by a pair of kills by Saddler, one from Alex Wolnisty and a trio pf SDSU attack errors.

San Diego will now prepare to open its 2008 Mountain West Conference season with a match at Air Force on Saturday, Sept. 20, at 7:00 p.m. (CDT).
