SAN DIEGO - Former Aztec Brandon Heath, the all-time leading scorer in San Diego State and Mountain West Conference history, has signed with the Los Angeles Lakers, the team announced Wednesday. Per team policy, terms of the agreement were not released.

Heath, a 6-3 guard who lettered at SDSU from 2004-07, spent last season playing in France for Entente Orleans 45 where he averaged 12.0 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 25 games.

This past summer, Heath played for the Los Angeles Clippers in the 2008 Summer Pro League in Las Vegas and averaged 5.6 points and 1.0 rebounds in five games.

Heath ended his Aztec career as the most prolific scorer in school and conference history, finishing with 2,189 points. The Los Angeles native led the Aztecs to the MWC regular season and tournament titles in 2006 en route to the NCAA Tournament and helped SDSU to the second round of the NIT in 2007.

Individually, Heath was a four-time all-MWC performer and was named the 2006 league player of the year. That same season, Heath earned honorable mention All-America honors from the Associated Press.
