SAN DIEGO - San Diego State head women's basketball coach Beth Burns will be speaking at the Palm Springs Coaches Clinic at the Renaissance Esmeralda Resort and Spa in Indian Wells, Calif., Saturday morning at 9:30 a.m. PT. Burns is scheduled to be the second of nine presenters and will cover the topics of offensive post play and SDSU pressure defense.
Burns, the winningest head coach in school history, enters her fourth season of her second stint at San Diego State in 2008-09. Last year, Burns led the Aztecs to their first-ever appearance in the Mountain West Conference championship game as they finished the campaign with an 18-13 overall record, marking the Scarlet and Black's best season since 1996-97.
During her first stint at SDSU from 1989-1997, Burns guided the Aztecs to four consecutive 20-win seasons and four NCAA tournament appearances.
The Palm Springs Coaches Clinic is a three-day event (Sept. 5-7) and will feature 13 selected speakers. Saturday's presentations will get underway at 8:15 a.m., with Burns set to take the stage from 9:30-10:15 a.m.
