ESPN.com's "25 Hours of College Football" Chat Part II (with SDSU's Russell Allen)

San Diego State senior linebacker Russell Allen (Oceanside, Calif.), a Butkus and Lombardi Award nominee, will participate in an online chat Thursday at noon PT (3 p.m. ET) on ESPN SportsNation on ESPN.com. Fans will be able to submit online questions to Allen, who, along with the rest of the Aztecs, takes the field for the first time in 2008 on Saturday against Cal Poly at Qualcomm Stadium.

Allen is one of just four players and 25 people overall selected to participate in separate chat sessions that will run Wednesday (4-8 p.m. PT) and Thursday (6 a.m.-4 p.m. PT). Others who will take part throughout the two days include such notable names as Mel Kiper, Ivan Maisel, Rece Davis and Joe Schad. The chat is part of ESPN's 25 Hours of College Football leading up to the network's first game of the season on Thursday night.

A preseason all-Mountain West Conference selection, Allen led SDSU in tackles a year ago with 119 and ranked first in the league in tackles per conference outing (10.6). Allen broke a 36-year-old school single-game record with 22 stops against Utah in 2007 to garner MWC player-of-the-week honors for the second time in his career. One of the Aztecs' six team captains this season, he earned honorable mention all-league accolades and enters 2008 with 268 career stops, 12.5 tackles for loss and three interceptions.
