SAN DIEGO - Aztec Sport Properties, a Learfield Sports property, and Clear Channel Broadcasting announced Tuesday that Ted Leitner and Chris Ello will serve as the broadcast team for the upcoming San Diego State football season, beginning Aug. 30 (6:30 p.m.) against Cal Poly. The pair can be heard on AM 600 KOGO, the radio home of Aztec athletics.

Leitner continues his role as play-by-play announcer, while Ello will provide color commentary this season, while working as on-air talent at XTRA Sports Radio 1360 AM.

Leitner is one of the most recognizable media figures in San Diego, where he has served as the voice of the Aztecs, Chargers and Padres on radio and television. The Oklahoma State graduate has been a part of SDSU broadcasts as far back as 1978, and his most recent stint includes working the last three Aztec football and four men's basketball campaigns.

A 1985 SDSU graduate and former member of the Aztec baseball team, Ello begins his first season with the team. He currently plays host to a daily sports talk radio show, "The World of Sports According to Chris", on the newly launched all-sports station, XTRA Sports 1360 AM. Ello has also worked as the voice for the San Diego Gulls (hockey), San Diego Sockers (indoor soccer), San Diego Spirit (outdoor soccer), San Diego Wildcards (CBA), San Diego Riptide (arena football) and the Aztec women's basketball team.

In addition to Leitner and Ello, Mike Costa returns for his second year of his second stint as sideline reporter for all Aztec football home and away games, having served a similar role from 2002-04. Also, Craig Elsten will return for his second year as the broadcast host for the pregame, halftime and postgame shows.

KOGO is the highest rated AM station in the San Diego market and will air all SDSU football and men's basketball games, in addition to weekly coach's shows and additional live Aztec sporting events.

Aztec season and single-game tickets are still available and can be purchased at the Aztec ticket office at Qualcomm Stadium or by calling (619) 293-SDSU (7378).
