SAN DIEGO - Senior Christina Ross (Santa Clarita, Calif.) has been named to the 2008 Easton All-America Second Team. Ross became the second Aztec to ever win All-America honors, joining Erin Floros' first-team selection in 2006.

Ross, who garnered NFCA all-West Region accolades and MWC Pitcher of the Year honors earlier this year, put together arguably the best season in school history in 2008. Ross went 30-14 with a 1.00 ERA in 293 2/3 innings pitched, while striking out a school-record 275 batters. She added 14 shutouts while limiting her opponents to a .206 batting average.

Ross ranked among the top-10 in all 16 pitching categories, including first in wins (tied - 30), appearances (52), and shutouts (14), and second in games started (38), complete games (31) and innings pitched (293.2).

Ross is the career SDSU record holder in solo shutouts (23), shutouts (tied - 28) and strikeouts (612), despite playing just three seasons for the Aztecs. Ross, who was named the MWC Pitcher of the Week a league-record nine times, is also second all-time in wins (70), win percentage (.660), games started (96), complete games (72) and innings pitched (691.2).

Ross led the Aztecs to their most successful season in school history, which culminated with a 2-0 loss at Fresno State in the NCAA Regional. SDSU set school record in 11 categories, including wins (44), and win percentage (.721, 44-17), en route to its fourth MWC title and fourth NCAA appearance.
