SAN DIEGO - San Diego State men's basketball player Lorrenzo Wade has withdrawn from the 2008 NBA Draft, it was announced Wednesday afternoon. The two-time all-Mountain West Conference selection will now return to Montezuma Mesa for his senior season.

"After careful investigation between the two of us, (Lorrenzo) has decided to withdraw his name immediately from the potential NBA Draft list," SDSU head coach Steve Fisher said. "He is now making it official what we were thinking might happen, that he will be back at San Diego State for his senior year."

Wade, an honorable mention all-league pick as a sophomore and a first-team honoree last season, returns to the Aztecs after helping SDSU to its third consecutive postseason appearance in 2007-08 and third straight 20-plus win season (20-13).

The Las Vegas, Nev., product started 31 out of 33 games played last season, averaging a team-leading 14.8 points and 3.6 assists, while grabbing 4.5 rebounds en route to earning National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) all-District 13 second-team accolades.

Wade returns for his senior campaign as one of three Aztecs who earned all-MWC honors last year joining senior Ryan Amoroso (third team) and sophomore Billy White (third team and freshman of the year).
