CERRITOS, Calif. - With an off day scheduled for the Mt. SAC Relays due to high school competition, San Diego State took advantage of the break in the action by competing at the Beach Invitational on Saturday. One Aztec set a personal record and another logged an NCAA regional qualifying mark at the one-day event.
Tamara McMillan excelled in the hammer setting a personal best with a throw of 150-7. The junior college transfer also participated in the shot put (39-7.75) and discus (128-10) as well.
In the pole vault, Monica Pacas cleared the 12-7.50 to finish in a tie for third place. Her effort marked the seventh time this season that the senior posted an NCAA regional qualifying mark. The Aztecs also had Christin Shibley (t-6th, 12-1.50) and Katie Vo (t-9th, 11-7.75) finish in the top 10 in the event.
SDSU returns to action on Sunday to complete the Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut, Calif.
