BOISE, Idaho - The 52nd-ranked San Diego State men's tennis team rebounded from an emotional loss to Rice in resounding fashion on Friday with a 7-0 whitewash of Idaho in a neutral-site clash at Appleton Tennis Center in Boise, Idaho. With the victory, the Aztecs raised their record to 5-4 on the season, while the Vandals fell to 10-9 overall after dropping their fourth match in a row.

SDSU took out its frustrations early on in doubles competition by capturing all three contests for just the third time this season. Andre Feliz and Matan Shitrit got things rolling for the Scarlet and Black with an 8-2 triumph over Timothy Huynh and Paulo Miranda in the No. 2 position, while Bartosz Golas and Danny Heidecker, who joined forces for the first time this year, promptly clinched the point after knocking off Stanislav Glukhov and Andrey Potapkin, 8-3 on the No. 1 court. The Aztecs also unveiled another new tandem in third slot as Jordan Colman and Tim Schulz van Endert ensured the sweep by dispatching Andrew Dobbs and Hugh McDonald, 8-5.

Head coach Gene Carswell also shuffled the deck in singles play and came out with a winning hand as the Scarlet and Black took all six encounters in straight sets. In his first Division I singles match, Colman emerged victorious with a 6-3, 6-3 conquest of Dobbs at No. 5, while Michael Beron pinned a 6-3, 6-4 defeat on Miranda in the sixth spot in his first action since Feb. 6.

At the top of the ladder, Golas snapped a two-match losing streak after downing Potapkin, 6-2, 6-2, while Shitrit prevailed by a 6-4, 6-1 count over Glukhov in his first appearance at No. 2 since the season opener against UC Riverside. Over on court No. 3, Heidecker encountered minimal resistance in a 6-0, 6-0 thrashing of McDonald in the third position, while Feliz rounded out the Aztec scoring with a 6-3, 6-2 decision over Huynh in the No. 4 slot.

San Diego State will have little time to rest as it remains in the Gem State to face No. 40 Boise State on Saturday beginning at 1 p.m. MST.
