CHULA VISTA, Calif. - The San Diego State women's golf team cruised to an easy dual-match victory over visiting Brown University, winning by 39 strokes with a 22-over 310 at the par-72 Salt Creek Golf Course in Chula Vista, Calif. The Bears, meanwhile, posted a 349 over the 18 holes.

"The pin positions were pretty difficult today, and I think we played well," said SDSU head coach Felicia Brown. "It will be interesting to see how that carries over into our next tournament in Sacramento."

The Aztecs had all four of its top golfers log sub-80 rounds, including senior Kim Carmody (Palatine, Ill.), who fired a season-best 4-over 76. Redshirt sophomore Petra Cole (San Diego, Calif.) wasn't far behind with a 77, while freshman Samantha Roberts (Carlsbad, Calif.) and junior Jackie Kazarian (Dana Point, Calif.) were one stroke in back of each other with scores of 78 and 79, respectively.

SDSU freshman Stephanie Arcala (Oceanside, Calif.) rounded out the Aztec starting five with a 13-over 85, and redshirt sophomore Ashley Wood (Lake Tahoe, Calif.) had an 87 after competing as an individual.

Brown was led by freshman Sarah Guarascio's 83, followed by freshman Julie Robinson's 87.

San Diego State will play its final tournament prior to MWC championships next week at the 54-hole Sacramento State Women's Preview Golf Tournament, March 31-April 1, at the Lincoln Hills Golf Club.
