PRINCETON, N.J. - The sixth-ranked San Diego State women's water polo team remained perfect and extended its best start in the program's 13-year history to 10-0 with two wins on Sunday morning on the final day of the Princeton Invitational. The Aztecs began their doubleheader sweep with a 12-6 triumph over No. 18 Indiana before downing George Washington University, 11-3.

Anna Gonzales and Becca Ur each recorded a hat trick to lead the Scarlet and Black to a 12-6 victory over 18th-ranked Indiana. SDSU held a narrow 5-3 advantage at the break before exploding for seven goals in the second half, including a four-goal outburst in the final eight minutes of play, to secure the win.

In addition to the three scores from both Gonzales and Ur, Jenna Schuster added a pair of goals, while Erica Dill, Jessica Pace, Erinn Greenwood and Erin Lester each found the back of the net. Heather Fenske played the entire game in goal, recording nine saves.

In the second game, the Aztecs' defense stepped up, holding George Washington scoreless in three quarters for an 11-3 rout of the Colonials. SDSU jumped out to a 6-0 lead at the half and never looked back, allowing GWU to score just three goals in the third period.

Nine different Aztecs scored in the game with Gonzales leading the way with her second hat trick of the day. Hannah Klein and Brooke Vessey each notched their first tally of the season, while Tiphanie Elliott, Greenwood, Pace, Schuster, Jamie Vessey and Ur each added a goal. Katie Bentley, who posted a season-high seven stops against Bucknell yesterday, topped that performance as she played in all four quarters and turned away eight shots.

The Aztecs will put their 10-0 record on the line next weekend when they continue their preseason slate at the UC Irvine Invitational, Feb. 23-24, at the Anteater Aquatics Complex on the campus of UCI.
