COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - San Diego State junior Decontee Kaye has been named Mountain West Conference Women's Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week, the league announced Tuesday afternoon.

The Hayward, Calif., native earned her second career weekly honor after provisionally qualifying for the NCAA Championships in the long jump at the Bronco Invitational in Nampa, Idaho. Kaye set the SDSU indoor record in the long jump on the first day of competition with a leap of 20 feet, 2.25 inches, while competing in a field that included 10th-ranked Arizona State. She improved on her previous-best mark by 1-2.25 to surpass former Aztec record holder Lisa Domico's mark of 19-10.25 established in 1999.

In addition to setting a new school record, Kaye posted the top long jump in the conference and the 21st-best distance nationally, according to TrackShark.com.

The junior also set a personal record in the 200-meter dash for the second week in a row with a time of 24.67 seconds, which is the seventh-best effort in school history and seventh-fastest among all league competitors this season.

In the triple jump, just a week after provisionally qualifying for the national indoor meet and winning the event at the Mountain T's Invitational, Kaye finished her weekend by recording a runner-up performance with a leap of 41-3.25.
