SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State women's basketball team will join the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) and over 900 schools nationally in the organization's "Think Pink" initiative on Saturday, Feb. 16, when it plays host to the University of Utah at Cox Arena for a 2 p.m. PT tip-off.

The WBCA's "Think Pink" initiative is a global, unified effort for the WBCA's nation of coaches to assist in raising breast cancer awareness on the court, across campuses, in communities and beyond. The week set aside for this year's initiative is February 8 - 17. The specific message behind Saturday's contest will be to raise breast cancer awareness, promote early detection and celebrate breast cancer survivors.

As a part of this year's "Think Pink" game, both the Aztecs and Utes will be wearing pink shooting shirts prior to the game, while SDSU will also don pink shoelaces and headbands. The American Cancer Society (ACS) will have an information booth on the arena concourse to learn more about breast cancer. The ACS will accept monetary donations at its booth and will be selling pink bracelets.

San Diego State Athletics has teamed with the American Cancer Society and the Interfraternity and Panhellenic Councils on campus to promote student attendance. Fraternities and sororities can earn points for bringing the most members to the game and also for wearing pink and for overall school spirit.

As a part of this special promotion for Saturday's contest, SDSU alumni members can buy one $7 general admission ticket and get one free with an SDSU Alumni Association card at the Cox Arena box office or Qualcomm Stadium window E.Single-game tickets are also available via ticketmaster at ticketmaster.com or by calling 619-220-TIXS.

All fans attending the game on Saturday, Feb. 16, vs. Utah at Cox Arena are asked to wear "pink" to support the cause.
