Aztecs Look for Third Straight Victory and Season Sweep of TCU Saturday in Fort Worth
Having won 11 of its last 19 Mountain West Conference road games, San Diego State (16-6; 6-2 MWC) begins the second half of the conference season at TCU (11-10; 3-5 MWC) on Saturday afternoon in Fort Worth, Texas.

The game is scheduled for 2 p.m. CT (Noon PT) at Daniel-Meyer Coliseum, and the contest will be televised on The Mtn. (Cox cable channel 320) with Bill Doleman calling the play-by-play and Blaine Fowler providing analysis. The MWC showdown can be heard on the flagship station of Aztec Athletics, AM 600 KOGO, with Ted Leitner courtside.

San Diego State completed the first rotation of league play in a tie for second place, following an impressive defensive effort in Wednesday's 49-38 victory over Air Force. The Aztecs held the Academy to just 31.0 percent shooting from the field and allowed the Falcons just 13 field goals. SDSU set a Cox Arena record and Mountain West school record by allowing just 38 points. San Diego State's 49 points were the fewest in an Aztec victory since scoring 49 in a two-point win over the Academy on March 2, 2002.

Mountain West Conference Player of the Year candidate Lorrenzo Wade was the only Aztec to reach double figures as he had a game-high 14 points. Junior center Ryan Amoroso added six points and a game- and career-high tying 12 rebounds and was instrumental in SDSU's 38-23 rebound advantage.

On Saturday, Steve Fisher will coach in his 267th career game at San Diego State, surpassing his total at his previous collegiate stop at Michigan. Although the 1992 National Coach of the Year has a national championship and three championship game appearances to his credit, one could make a case that this is one of his most impressive coaching jobs. Despite losing three of the best players in school history in the last two seasons (Brandon Heath, Mohamed Abukar and Marcus Slaughter), returning just two starters from last year's team, having just one senior on the squad and having just two starters with significant playing time, Fisher has SDSU in second place in the league race with only a pair of three-point losses (at Brigham Young and against UNLV) separating the Aztecs from conference perfection.

San Diego State and TCU will be meeting for the ninth time with the Aztecs owning a 5-3 series lead. SDSU has won all five games since the Horned Frogs joined the MWC prior to the 2005-06 campaign. The Aztecs opened the 2008 MWC season with a 64-57 victory over TCU on Jan. 5. In that contest, San Diego State led wire-to-wire and held the Horned Frogs to 13 first half points.
