SAN DIEGO - A number of San Diego State student-athletes participated in the 28th annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day parade to celebrate the legacy of the civil rights leader on Saturday, Jan. 19.
Approximately 75 representatives from both the Aztec water polo and track and field teams marched in the parade along with the SDSU delegation. The group met at PETCO Tailgate Park and made its way through the streets of downtown San Diego along with hundreds of other participants.
The parade, which featured bands, floats, and banners, was followed by the Multicultural Festival held at the Martin Luther King Jr. Promenade across from the Convention Center. Over 1,000 people made their way to downtown San Diego to enjoy the weekend's festivities.
